Sister Schools Scheme

Every year, District 303 will pair schools for disabled children with schools for normal children.  Students of the paired school will jointly conducted activities and programs sponsored by Lions Clubs. The main objectives for promoting the Scheme are threefold:

(1)   students of ordinary schools will have a better understanding of disabled children through direct contact and relationship

(2)   disabled children will have more opportunities in social interaction with ordinary children

(3)   both disabled and ordinary children can participate together in meaningful activities which disabled children may find difficult to undertake without due assistance

The scheme has considerable merit.  Besides the objectives mentioned above, the scheme, of which integration played a dominant part, was to create awareness among normal children of the presence in the community of children less fortunate than themselves and offer them love and understanding.
